20+ Years of Experience Working For You

Ross Pearson and Jim Hammond joined together to form Pearson-Hammond Custom Homes in 2006.

Jim Hammond
Jim has been working in the residential construction industry since 1989. In these twenty years Jim has built fourty plus homes. Most of which have been in the “high-end” range of housing.

Upon leaving the U.S. Marine Corps in 1989, one of Jim’s first jobs was as a finish carpenter trainee with a construction company in Mill creek. There Jim excelled in learning the trade and quickly moved into a foreman position. During Jim’s six years as a finish carpenter he also furthered his education in Business Project Management, Drafting, and Basic Structural Design and Engineering.

Jim started his own company and became a contractor in1992. Continuing to do carpentry now through “Hammond Design Construction”, Jim worked with his brother Roger and became a competent successful carpenter, with a specialty in finish work.

While working on a Custom home in Mill Creek in 1995, Jim was approached by a large custom home builder and was asked to come to work for him as the superintendent of his company. Jim decided to accept the offer, and closed Hammond Design Construction seeking to advance further in the custom home industry.

Since then Jim has again excelled through continued education and a strong work ethic to become a competent project manager. Jim regularly oversees two to five million dollar homes and just completed a “Street of Dreams” project in Sammamish.

Ross Pearson
Gaylord Pearson (Ross’ father) had a sole proprietorship as a general contractor for 50+ years both building and remodeling homes in King and Snohomish counties. In 2006, at age 72, it was finally time for Gaylord to put the hammer away. It was at the age of 3 that Ross first learned how to use a hammer, “helping” his father build the custom home his parents still live in today!

Growing up building and working beside his father, Ross’ passion became building. In 1989, Ross received his BBA from Pacific Lutheran University, and elected to pursue a career in marketing and sales related to the building and construction industry. To continue the passion for home building, Ross stayed directly involved by building and remodeling several of his own homes, as well as an occasional home to sell, or helping in his father’s business. Ross’ sales success continued as he became the North American Sales Manager for a well known manufacturing company.

Ross’ ultimate passion remained in building homes, and ultimately desired to continue the family business. Since his father’s company was a sole proprietorship, the business terminated with his father’s retirement in 2006. This became the elected time to create a perpetual company that could continue for future generations.

After much deliberation and planning, good friends Jim and Ross elected to undertake the next step in both their careers and passions by partnering together to form “Pearson-Hammond Custom Homes”. With the combined knowledge, complimentary strengths and abilities, commitment to exceptional value and craftsmanship, Pearson-Hammond Custom Homes was formed and is becoming a sought after builder for people desiring a home of distinction that matches with their personality and lifestyle.
